The vote was 62-62 on a pro posal by Rep. Arthur E. Gromatzky of Priddy to increase the appro priation for the Texas A&M Col lege Extension Service from $539,- 000 to $662,000 a year. The teams were made up of Larry Goodwyn and Jim Stevens on the first team, James Farmer and George Grupe on the second. The subject for the debate was “Resolved: the Federal Govern ment should Adopt a Policy of Aid to Tax Supported Schools by Means of Annual Grants.” Gopd- wyn and Stevens supported the affirmative and Farmer and Grupe took the negative.
