A fighter all the way, Howell is in there pitching every play. As a matter of fact, his chief fault is probably his habit of burning him self out before the game is over. Whatever the case, he has been a valuable asset to the Aggies this season. If some of the sports scribes in the state could stop see ing nothing but Bechtol, Bechtol, and Bechtol, they might notice there’s a real all-conference flank er playing left end for the Aggies. Bechtol is going to need more than his press notices to outshine Cotton, come Thanksgiving. We’re putting our money (what’s left of it, that is) on Cotton’s playing his usual steady game and that should be enough to put our ’Sip friend, Bechtol, in the shade where he belongs. After that game, maybe Cotton Howell will get some of the credit he rightly deserves.
