On Saturday you are going to entertain the best group of students that the Cadet Corps ever comes in contact with. Always there has been only the best of feelings and good will toward the T. C. U. stu dent body, and this is the time when all cadets oug’ht to do everything in their power to show our visitors as good a time as they showed us in Fort Worth as their guests last year. Never has the Corps been treated as royal ly and welcomed with such warmth as it was by the T. C. U. students. We want our visitors to feel that they are welcome, and to have a good time while they are on the A. and M. Campus. You can treat our guests nice and show them real courtesy at all times, and you have done it. Look what the Centenary fans think of the reception they received. We all like for them to express their appreciation of our courtesies, but it is a case Saturday of where you cannot overdo yoursell no matter how hard you try, so just stay in the right and give them every consideration in the world that our campus and your abilities will allow. And listen to me Boy! While you’re thinking about all that considera tion and courtesy don’t forget that the Frogs are coming down here to play football, too, and they don’t mean to go home with the little end of the score. They are always our hardest contender and have proved to be much of a jinx to these old Farmer Boys of ours. Get your mind on that game and live it for these next three days. for all the jackasses are not in the Museum, but rather that such a min ister could find people claiming to be religious and intelligent who will listen to him. It will probably never reach a stage in America where politics can be carried on in the churches, we believe too strongly in separation of church and state, but it seems that we have already arrived at the point where churches can carry on (and how) in politics. The saving grace of political campaigns is that the two parties are usually very similar and it is just a case of dog eat dog, but when one calls in his God to vote for his candidate and to help him calumate the other side’s candidate, “The decent fates retire.” Truly there is enough religious disturbance going on at present, not only in colleges, but everywhere, without the divines confusing political buncombie with what we sincerely hope is NOT religious hoakum. It is too straining on the imagination to try and connect the ultimate destination of the soul with supposed sanctity in high political places. Blessed are the meek—and the militant ? A FEW THINGS ABOUT THE Y. M. C. A. For the past few years the students have known very little about the affairs of the Y. M. C. A. It is the policy of the Y. M. C. A. Cabinet, this year to show the students what the Y does, what it has done and try to carry on a program that will be worthwhile and of interest to all. We have with us this year, Mr. Gordon Gay, formerly of S. M. U. who will be Assistant Secretary. He will help in all forms of religious train ing on the campus. Mr. Gay is a very competent man and has already made many friends on the campus. If you ever get blue or homesick and do not know what to do, just drop around and see Mr. Gay. The Cabinet has been asked to take the place of the student labor previously employed by the Y. M. C. A. at the picture shows. It has ac cepted this responsibility and hope that the students will cooperate with us. Realizing the fact that the students do not understand what is done with all of the money taken in at the picture shows, we are publishing the following statement which we hope will be of interest to everyone. If, after a thorough investigation, you do not understand it, we will glad ly give any information desired. (Continued on Page 10) For Life Insurance SEE Crenshaw & Mitchell 27 ASTIN BUILDING It will be hard to offer anything like the kinds of entertainment that they provided for us last year but we can make the best of what we have here and welcome them with all the sincerity that it is possible for this Cadet Corps to offer. CORPS DANCES. For the benefit of those who do not know or for those who have for gotten it might be well to state here that a few rules are always to be observed at the Corps Dances at A. and M. Besides the rules or ordinary dances that we are accustomed to observing it is important that other rules be heeded also. Fish are not to tag a Senior. Stags will stand in a small group in the middle of the floor and not crowd the dancers too much. . Tags will not be honored on the first dance; Smoking on the floor will not be allowed. It is necessary that these rules be followed out in order to keep the best order at the dances and have perfect regard for the rights of others. Fish, we want you to come to the dances and have a good time but don’t try to come in and make a Social Flash of yourself. All men should con sider the right of a fellow with a date, so let him try to show her the good time that she is expecting and if he can’t perhaps he will call on you with your undisputed ability to show a girl a good time and ask for assistance, but otherwise don’t consider yourself the only one on the floor who is anxious to have fun. —SOCIAL SECRETARY. POLITICS. Religion has caused war, religion has plead for peace, religion has done many things, but never has religion intentionally put itself on a ridiculous basis. It took an American Presidential Campaign plus an ego tistical hound to bring a matter of the soul, of emotions, of the finer char acteristics of mankind to a position where a minister of the One God could stand on a platform and say, “The Democrats Donkey has a dry tail and a wet head, and belong in the jackass department of the New York Na tional Field Museum.” The pity of it is not that a minister of the gospel would stoop so low, PALACE Thursday,Fridry Saturday QUEEN Friday - Saturday
