Fight every game as it comes and look upon every opponent as a most worthy foe, because they are that and more. The season for easy games I is over and for everything we get from now on we have to fight and fight hard. That long THOUSAND MILE WALK is two games gone, and the bill is getting steeper all the time. * * * 1 According to dope reports that have been trickling down from the Moun tain, Doctor Mike Bennet’s Sewanee warriors are bent on getting on the big side of the score this year. For , four yeaks they have beein trying! to do this and during that period, in 1925, they managed to stage a tie game, 6 to 6. : Coach Bible is going to take twen ty-five players to Dallas and all of them will probably see service in the game. The Sewanee coajches are bringing thirty-three players as he has always been handicapped in the past games by lack of reserve strength. j We notice by the Austin newspapers that the conference title will be de cided in the Texas -S. M. U. game. According to one of the papers the Aggies have too weak a line to clear the way for the Four Horsemen in the backfield. That line did not look very weak in the Southwestern game. Southwestern had a good opportu nity to score once when the ball was on the one-yard line, but that Aggie line was in the way and the back- field proved their alertness by break ing up the Southwestern passes. >!' ❖ The Aggies showed a wonderful im provement over the previous week’s performance. If the team continues to show the same improvement in each game we shall have another one of those 28-0 victories on Turkey Day. * Jjc ❖ Incidentally the Cadet Corps show ed improvement also. It was behind the team just as strong at the finish (Continued on Page 14) l.,.t CONOVER % The Aggie backfield that will start the Sewanee game, in place of Alsabrook. An Aerial Battle to be Main Feature. The Texas Aggies will receive their first real competition of the sea son next Saturday in Dallas when they meet the Sewanee Tigers of the Tennessee mountains. Yearly this bat tle has been looked forward to by Aggie followers as it is from the re sult of this game that they make es timation of the teams strength. Each year in the past has produced favor able results, but from vague reports from the mountanious regions the re sult of this year’s battle will be much more questionable than the previous ones. For the past four years the Tigers have shown improvement, the scores being 14 to 0 in favor of the Farmers in 1923, the next year the Aggies had a tough battle but managed to win by the score of 7-0. In 1925 the Tig ers clearly outplayed the Farmers and up to the last few minutes of the game had a six point lead, but the Aggies, assisted by that spirit of Aggieland and boy friend, the little group of Ag gies that were there that memorable day WERE PUTTING IT OUT!—- held them for downs and Dansby blocked a punt and raced for a touch down, tying the score 6-6 as the last whistle blew. Last year was a near repetition of the year before. The Lucky Tigers had a new basketball, soccer, and football combination that puzzled Bible’s disciples throughout the game and in the first few minutes of play they pulled a fluke kick, couldn’t be called a drop-kick because it was fumbled and kicked squarely between the posts, hence the term of Lucky Tigers. Again in the last minute of the game the Farmers came from behind and won 6-3, little Joel Hunt got loose in midfield and ran through the entire Tiger team for a touchdown. This year the Tigers are going to be harder to defeat than ever before. They consider that they have had a successful season if they defeat the Texas Aggies and theis year they are spurred on by the past years’ results and are determined “to chase the v (Continued on Page 14)
