Shorthand and Typewriting RUSINJESS ^ QPENflNTGS Opportunity is knocking at your door. Do you wish to earn money to pay your way through school? Would you rather work in the dairy barn or in an office? Choose for yourself. I am offering to give you a complete course in shorthand. Do you wish to take your lecture notes in shorthand? We do not ask you for $60 or $75 for a course, but we offer it to you for $2.00 per month (2 lessons per week). You need not interfere with your studies while learn ing. Only 15 minuts per week of your study time necessary. This is a sample of the Byrne Simplified shorthand which will be taught you. It is the shortest system. Notice the simplicity of the characters as compared with other systems. There are only 27 small pages in the text, and only 13 WORD SIGNS IN THE SYSTEM. You have to learn only 26 characters, 11 contracted outlines and 13 word signs. You can be taking your notes in SHORTHAND before the end of the year. axixpdxMJdxixixDfc @<8xtXHX?xSXSXj>(§xE>a> sxgxixMXixaxaxgxDCD® axsxixMxixzxM We teach you the touch system—just like playing a piano. You do not have to look at the keys to write. How would you like to write your notes in typewriting? Do you know that they are worth from 10 per cent to 20 per cent more? Ask someone who has tried it. This course also costs you $2.00 and a typewriter is furnished you for one- half the time in your room to practice upon. If you and your room-mate both take it you can have a typewriter in your room all the time, rent free. You cannot rent a typewriter for this money. Take our combined course and next year you may work your way through school by working as student-stenog rapher. The Tyler Commercial College writes us that after taking this course from us you should be able to obtain their diploma in one month—entering there on the monthly plan. The reason for this is that this system is SHORT. You will be taught by someone who has had three years’ experience and knows what he is talking about—not by someone just from school. You can make money copying notes, and this alone might be made to pay for the cost of this course. If you have yet some years of schooling this is your chance to earn your way while going to school. If this is your last year, you can use it before this year is out in your notes. It will equip you to take a job anywhere and at any time if you should be “stranded.” I shall be glad to give you information regarding this course. Remember the class is to start Wednesday night, next and the above prices are guaranteed only to this date. Place your application with me now. 0."S. GRA63~Mitchell Hall
