Texas and Texas Tech each have 8-3 SWC records, one game ahead of Southern Methodist, which beat Baylor Tuesday night. The Longhorns are 9-14 for the season and Tech fell to 15-8. Hogs over TCU FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The Razorbacks’ starting five all hit for double figures as Arkansas rolled past Texas Christian Uni versity, 109-99, here Tuesday night. Dean Tolson led the Razorbacks with 25 points. He also collected 18 rebounds. Of the other four starters, both Dan Pauley and Ricky Medlock had 21 points. Den nis White made 16 points and Robert Birden netted 12. The Razorbacks led from the outset and went to the dressing room at the break with a 14-point lead, 55-41. Arkansas continued to dominate the contest in the sec ond half, never being seriously challenged by the Horn Frogs. Wayne Wayman was the lead ing scorer and rebounder for TCU. He had 17 points and eight re bounds for the night. Arkansas is now 4-7 in the Southwest Conference and 8-15 for the season. TCU is now 2-9 in conference and 8-14 in season play. Arkansas faces the Baylor Bears Saturday at Fayetteville. SMU wins again WACO — Ira Terrell pitched in 28 points to propel Southern Me thodist’s Mustangs to a 78-70 vic tory over the Baylor Bears here Friday night for their fifth straight Southwest Conference victory. SMU hit 63 per cent of their shots in the second half in break ing away from a 35-35 halftime tie. Terrell hit 11 of 16 of his field goal tries and added 10 rebounds in leading the Ponies to victory. Zack Thiel contributed 15 points while John Sagehorn had 12 and Rusty Bourquein 11. Charlie McKinney led the Bay lor scoring yith 17 points and pulled in 23 rebounds. Baylor played without starting guard and team captain Steve Dallas, who quit the team Tuesday morning for what was termed personal rea sons. The victory gave SMU a 7-4 record in SWC play and pulled the Mustangs one game behind co-leaders Texas Tech and Texas. The score was tied for the last time at 50-50 with 12 minutes to play when the Ponies broke away. Oscar Roan and Terrell broke the final tie and Sagehorn and Thiel shoved the Mustangs ahead by seven points at 63-56 with eight minutes left. Baylor never again threatened. Golf seminars set <•<>«. The seminar series began Jan. 28, with Jimmy Demaret of Hous ton, three-time Master’s champ ion, who discussed golf course de sign and construction from the professional’s viewpoint.
