They march ed 80 yards on 13 plays and a touchdown with 1:16 left in the opening period. Tech converted three impor tant third down plays and one fourth down attempt to keep the drive going. Tech’s excellent quarterback Tommy Dunivan hit halfback An gel Berlingeri for 30 yards and scrambled for 13 more during the drive. Myers accounted for the final ten yards himself as he scored his 12th touchdowns of the five game season. The Fish were unable to move the football on their next two possessions but the punting of Mark Stanley kept Tech from getting good field position. Early in the second quarter Dunivan guided the Pics to the endzone again. His scrambling for 13 and 9 and the final two yards for the score led the drive which covered 63 yards in eight plays. Brian Hall, who attempts ex tra points for the Pics despite the fact that he kicks with an artificial leg, was true with the PAT and Tech led 14-0. What may have been the real backbreaker for the Fish occur red during the next series. Roy Murry returned the kick off to the 24 but on the next play Bucky Sams fumbled after a 14 yard gain. Tech recovered just 38 yards from pay dirt but the Pics were guilty of a holding in fraction which moved the ball back to their own 44. The penalty made little differ- etice to Wee Willie Kent who took the ball on a beautifully execut ed end around and rambled 56 yards for the score. Hall’s kick was good and the Pics led 21-0 with 8:14 left in the first half. The Fish finally got a scoring drive mounted on their next pos session. Riding the running of Sams, a 15 yard penalty and a 28 yard Ammons to Blankenship pass put the Fish in shape for a three yard Ammons score with just 2:08 left in the half. The Fish started the second half like gang busters. Sams had cai*ries of 13.4 and 5 yards before he swept left end for 48 yards and another A&M score. The extra point try was miss ed due a fumbled snap but the Fish were back in the game at 21-13 with 12:44 in the third quarter. The A&M defense left the lock- eroom with the same enthusiasm as the offense and stopped the Pics cold on their first possession of the second half. A 24 yard Tech punt left the Fish with good field position at the A&M 38. Ammons completed a 16 yard pass to Murry but a 15 yard pen alty brought the ball back to Dining Club To Feature Hennessy The Knife and Fork Club of Bryan-College Station will fea ture Ed Hennessy Friday night at 7:30 in the MSC Ballroom. Sams hit right tackle for 18 yards and Ammons kept for 6 more and the Fish threatened to even the contest. No such luck, as two straight plays failed to turn up the needed yard for a first down and Tech took posses sion on their own 25.
