The junior class wives club will be hostesses for the meeting. A panel of veterinary faculty wives will discuss ques tions concerning the life of a vet erinary wife as the program for the meeting. The Aggie Wives Bi-idge club will meet at 7:30 p.m. in l ooms 2A and 2B of the MSC. Hostesses for the meeting will be Mrs. Maudine Chambers and Mrs. Janie Clark for the regulars; Mrs. Bill Jack and Mrs. Violet Palmer for the in termediates; and Mrs. Mary Arn old and Mrs. Camile Barmore for the beginners. Friday The A&M Garden club will meet at 2:30 p.m. in the MSC. “Guide for Flower Show Exhibitors With Scales of Points of Plant Socie ties” will be given at the meeting by Mrs. Edward Madeley, flower show chairman. Monday The Chemical Engineering Wives’ club will meet at 7:30 p.m. in the cabinet room of the YMCA. Mrs. W. C. Adams, former book reviewer of Dallas will speak to the group. Mrs. Margaret Camp bell, club president, has asked that each member bring a guest to the meeting. SCIENTIFIC MAGICIAN — Dr. Keith Hargett of the Moody Institute of Science is presenting a series of “Ser mons From Science” lectures at the First Baptist church in Bryan, each night this week. Hargett uses science to explain how science and the Bible coincide. Leaders Training Course Set for Arrowmoon Area CHS Tigers Schedule Two Meets The Bowling A&M Consolidated tennis teams compete in two invitational meets next week, after the Tigers fin ished in third place at the Alvin Invitational tourney last weekend. The CHS boys team plays in the Austin invitational Ma^ch 18-19, while the girls take pari in the Baytown invitational. The district Soccer Team Has Streak Broken 3~2 Suffering its first defeat since October 1953, A&M’s soccer team lost 3-2 Sunday to Ellington air force base in Houston. Ellington broke the Aggies’ 22 game winning streak on a penalty shot in the last half after A&M came from behind a 2-0 deficit to a tie in the first half. Late in the final period, Juan Letts, the Aggie captain, was charged with pushing, and EAFB made its penalty shot. Letts and Lee Blocker showed well for A&M. meet will be held at Bastrop April 12. At Alvin, Betsy Burchard won the senior girls singles title, de feating Fayrene Watson of Alvin 6-2, 6-4, in the finals. She had drawn a first round bye and beat Marilyn Meyer of Lamar Consoli dated (Rosenberg) 6-2, 6-0. The Tigers’ senior girls doubles entry, Betty Leeds and Margaret Manthei lost 4-6, 2-6, in the semi finals to Lamar’s duo of Alice Heverick and Sue Massey. Maureen Lewis and Eugenia Rush of CHS also lost in the semi finals, 4-6, 5-7. Lamar won the meet, with Alvin second. Horace Mann (Baytown), Spring Branch, Sugarland, Web ster and Freeport also competed. Don Avery lost in the boys jun ior semifinals to Leroy Como of Baytown 2-6, 2-6. Frank Bena vides, Maurice Olian and Helen Holmes lost fh-st round singles matches. Jerry Mills and David Smyth lost their first round doubles match. tournament has been postponed un til April 30-May 1, because of a lack of entries, said John M. Bolmanski, assistant district commissioner in charge of explorer activities, has announced a four-meeting training session for adult scout leaders in the ex plorer phase of the Boy Scout pro gram of the Arrowmoon district. The Arrowmoon district is made up of Brazos and Robertson coun ties. Meetings of the training session will be held weekly, beginning Fri day at 7:30 p.m. in the Parish house of St. Andrews Episcopal church in Bryan. Regular members of the Boy Scout - district training committee will be in charge of the sessions. These officials are the Rev. R. L. Herring jr. chairman; Sgt. G. R. Cox, Major O. H. Franks, Frank McCoy sr., and Bolmanski. Leon ard A. McPherson, district scout executive, will assist the commit tee. THE COCA-COLA COMPANY MSC Style Shows To Begin Again The style shows in the Memorial Student Center have started again and will be held each Thursday, ac cording to Mrs. Ann Keel, MSC social director. The shows were discontinued briefly because the MSC was closed during the holidays. The show is presented by Bev erley Braley’s in Bryan. The mod els are Mrs. Gloria Smith, Miss Kay King, and Mrs. Betty Floyd. UN Club Changes The United Nations club will meet on Thursday of this week in stead of Friday, because of the Ec- umencial conference.
