It was A&M’s widest victory margin of the season and put the Cadet season record at 4-11. The Aggies resume Southwest confer ence play tomorrow night, meet ing TCU and Dick O’Neal here at 8. There will be no Freshman game. With junior John Fortenberry and soph George (Spider) Mehaf- fey hitting from outside and Bill Brophy driving for the bucket, the Cadets tore apart the Tiger zone and after the first four minutes led all the way. Brophy scored 17 and was sec ond high in rebounds with 11. Me- haffey had 16 points and 12 re bounds, Fortenberry eight points and 10 rebounds. Mehaffey also did a great defensive job on Ned Clark, LSU’s 6-5 center who scored 24 points and had 28 rebounds in the Tigers’ 73-61 December win. Clark had 12 rebounds but didn’t get a single field goal. Tiger for ward Koger Sigler scored 24„ the game high. Roger Harvey did a fine guard ing job on Norm Magee before leaving the game with a twisted knee early in the second half. Ma gee got 21 points in that previous game but had only one field goal last night before Harvey left. Aft er the game, it didn’t appear that Harvey’s knee would keep him out of the TCU game. • The Aggies hit 20 of 52 shots, 38 per cent, and outrebounded the taller Tigers, 56-50. LSU had an off night from the field after play ing Kentucky to a 64-62 decision several days ago. The visitors made 14 of 77, only 18 per cent. The win was the biggest margin of victory in cocaptain Fortenber ry’s Aggie cage career. A&M (58) Smith . ... Harvey . . . Harrod . . . Brophy . . . Mehaffey McCrory . . Bilbrey . . . It was an up-hill battle for the Fish, who trailed by eight points mid-way in the second half. Led by Fritzie Qonnally, Bryan Suther- lin, and Carter Williams, the Ag gies managed to whittle away Al len’s lead and send the game into overtime. The Fish trailed at half time, 31-34. Williams’ lay-up shot with 1:52 to go in regular play put the Fish ahead for the first time in the sec ond half. Robert Rodiuez pushed Allen in front again, 71-69 with 1:20 to go, and set the stage for Collier’s tying two-pointer with only 34 seconds left. With the score knotted at 84-84 in overtime play, Collier drove in from the right side and lai^ in the winning bucket. Sutherlin was the leading scorer for the Aggies with 20 points, 17 coming in the dramatic second half. He also grabbed 15 rebounds to rank second in that department.
