All-Star Tilt Between Bryan and A. & M. Should Prove Interesting Fray to Spectators Today, on Diamond No. 4, A. & M. will attempt in some type of fashion to present to the Col lege Statiom fans an All-Star game, one mindful of a classic be tween a galaxy of stars from two selected professional leagues. Of course, everything is on a small scale, but those who have been regular spectators at the semi-weekly Twilight League soft- ball frays know the type of com petition that exists here. From 5,- 000 Aggies have come the cream of the softball crop and that same bunch will trot out on the field this evening at 7 o’clock sharp. The pitching, hitting and field ing has been far above par over previous years, and today you will see a combination of the best 10 players in the whole league fight ing it out for supremacy with Bryan’s ace tossers. As I have not seen any of the Bryan players in action, I can’t say what kind of a team they will bring. From Bryan Eagle Sport Editor John Sidney Smith’s col umn, word comes that the visitors have a well-rounded team, one which could give any softball op ponent a hard fight. Hitting especially characterizes the Twilight League All-Stars. Black, Newberry, Atkins, Frost, Taylor and Carll are far above the charmed .300 circle, with Black and Newberry hitting above the .400 mark. As for the fielders, the All- Stars employ the fastest in the league. With such stars as Leo Daniels, Rock Roberts and Milton Sims chasing fly balls, you’ll see many would-be bingles snagged as easy outs. Johnny Hejl, ace flinger for Loupot, and Gregg Ramsey of Campus Cleaners, on the mound, you can bet that the Bryanites are not in for an easy time. The game starts promptly at 7 o’clock, so get out there as soon as possible. You’ll see two fine squads in action, and if you want to see an exciting softball affair, come out on Diamond No. 4, which is on the way to the gym, and en joy a full hour or so of entertain ment! Loupot, Campus Cleaners, Lipscomb And Theatre Win , Loupot’s Trading Post and Cam pus Cleaners drew away from the rest of the teams in the league as they came through last evening with close victories. Loupot’s edged out Madeley’s Pharmacy by a score of 7 to 4 and the Campus Cleaners kept right on the heels of Loupot’s boys, a game out of first place, by defeating the Ag gie Cleaners 4 to 2. The Campus Theatre took over undisputed pos session of fourth place by eking out a 6 to 4 win over Holick’s Cleaners, and in the other game of the evening Lipscomb’s Pharm acy trounced the Faculty by a score of 6 to 3. Loupot’s had lots of trouble in winning their game from Made- ley’s Pharmacy as the pharmacy boys hustled all the way before they went down to defeat at the hands of Miller, Loupot’s spin ball artist. Lo^pot’s boys started out like a house on fire and scored five runs in the first two innings but after that Lefty Carroll the Madeley Pharmacy pitcher tight ened up and held them in check (See TWILIGHT, Page 4) mm Keep ’em flying in BARRACKS BROWNS (we mean your feet) When your feet are up in famed-for-fit Crosby- Squares, you’ve got alti tude to spare, brother.... altitude to spare.
