8 THE BATTALION A. AND M. HAS AN INVINCIBLE TEAM (Continued from Pago 1) minute and deliver the goods. Pierce can also be used as an end very ef fectively. For the guards, Captain “Woodrow Wilson,” our All Southwestern guard, is hack with us again. He is a tower of strength on offense and viscious in his defense. When “Woodie” is at right guard the opposing teams never get an opening at that corner. Scud- der, Murrah, Patillo, Wendt and Simpson are our other reliable men who will keep our line intact. At tackle we have such men as Drake, Carruthers, Davis, Coker, Keen and Toms. These men have grit and backbone which always plays a large part in the building of a win ning team. Our ends are in balance with the other players on the team. Alexand er, our All State end, bids fair to re peat his honors of the past. Pierce, Touchstone and Oakes also will let the opposing teams know of their presence. It is doubtful if Ernest Forrest will get into this years’ games because of his broken shoul der. We regret that he has had such hard luck, because he is a trusty man and a hard worker. He has been working against an obstacle all sea son, having broken three ribs last fall. With such coaches as D. X. Bible and “Tubby” Graves, and with the experience of the last four games, our men have rapidly developed into a fighting team that has caused every other team to look toward it in ad miration. Our future looks promis ing, and with the same fighting spirit fehat is jfcir being displayed, they should produce aTIrand of football m the next big games that will fulfill the hopes of every ardent supporter of A. & M.
