Cowboy boots just sit back, exuding a certain coolness as other boot fads quickly come and go, such as the go-go boots of the 1960s or spiky ankle boots of the 1980s. It isn’t just the handsome, stoic Marlboro man who can pull off the look. From bright colors to floral designs, there is the perfect boot that will meet anyone’s style needs. When I walked into the King Ranch Store in Kingsville, Texas, 1 was immediately drawn to a two-tone pair of boots decorated with red roses from the top to bottom. My kid in a candy store excitement soon plum meted as I picked up the little masterpiece to find a $425 price tag. The price is obviously high, but the same pair of boots on BootBarn.com sold for almost half the price. Another good Web site for boots is Sheplers.com, which also has competitive prices on western boots. (AP) — Dozens of prospective grand jurors arrived at an assembly room Thursday so court officials could begin selecting a panel to hear evidence in the child molestation case against Michael Jackson. Court officials struggled to maintain secrecy about the grand jury’s activities, which are usually confidential. Several reporters and news crews arrived hours before prospective grand jurors. An order issued by Superior Court Judge Clifford R. Anderson III on Wednesday barred news crews from photographing or speaking to prospective grand jurors and members of the final panel. Jackson, whose Neverland estate is in Santa Barbara County, was charged late last year with seven counts of committing lewd or las civious acts upon a child under age 14 and two counts of administering an intoxicating agent to the child.
