The NASA plan, which will be released Monday, lists a number of improvements being made — including ways to better facili tate communication and encourage employees to “express dissenting views.” The report said NASA is reviewing ways to harden the shuttle against dam age caused by debris impacts. Report shows Houston DNA testing flawe HOUSTON (AP) — Analysts in the Houston Police Department’s troubled DNA lab have been plagued by inadequate education and training, on-the- job mistakes and reprimands, the Houston Chronicle reported Sunday. Only one lab analyst had com pleted all the required college ing to meet the DNA Advisory Board Quality Assurance Standards. None of the analysts were regularly evaluated to see if they had learned skills in the lab’s informal and undocumented peer-mentoring program. The Chronicle reviewed school transcripts, training and discipline records for the lab ana lysts.
