Infections Continued from page 1A “It is so important to get tested for [chlamydia and gonorrheal if you have ever had unprotected sex. because they are curable, but can cause sterility if left untreated,” Griffith said. Having a visual exam can also identify certain infections, Griffith said, and appointments to see a health care provider are free for students at Beutel. “We really encourage the testing because it is so important, and the health care providers are very understanding” said assistant health education coordinator Alyssa Worn mack. Protection from these infections is also supported by Beutel, Griffith said, and condoms are available next to the pharmacy in the basement of Beutal, and cost $2 for 10 condoms. “We don’t only encourage testing, but we also encourage students to use protection from these infections, but of course the best protection is abstinence,” Wommack said.
