A group of supporters of Abel Pacheco, who won Sunday’s presidential election, approached the house of Araya’s parents in Palmares, 30 miles north of San Jose, the capital, and assaulted Araya’s sons, who were outside at the time, witnesses said. "I was also hit in the incident.” He said his father was in stable condition.
