She’s On Firp Senior forward Jaynetta Saunders has had the hot hand for the Aggies lately, scoring 35 points against Ok lahoma and hitting the 34 mark against the Bears. Saunders’ performance in the two games earned her Big 12 Player of the Week honors for the first time this season. Saunders’ 35 points against the Sooners matched the record for second most points scored by an Aggie. Saunders is the fifth player in school history to score 34 points or more in a game. The junior college transfer piled on five Big 12 Rookie of the Week awards during the Aggies’ 1999-00 season. Saunders has also become a threat on the 3-point line; she hit 3- of-4 3- pointers against the Bears and six during the Oklahoma game.
