The United Campus Ministry will
be holding an Aggie Supper at Our
Savior’s Lutheran Church from 6-
7:30 p.m. Everyone is invited for
a free, home-cooked meal. This is
the first one of the semester and
will go on every Thursday until the

TAMU Cooperative Education will
be holding a welcome-back party
for all current and former co-ops
at 5:30 p.m. in the career center

free food and door prizes.
The Democratic Socialists of Texas
A&M will be holding a general meet

Park to be
decorated
with lights
for victims

To commemorate the lives of the
12 Accics who died in the 1999
Bonfire collapse, the city of College
Station will decorate Bison Park
with 12 dedicated street lightsanda
state marker.
Each street light will have a
miniature plaque with the deceased
Aggie’s name, class, hometown and
there w ill he a picture of a bonfire
above the name.
“We want something permanem
in memory of these students,” said
Margaret Griffith, co-chair of the
College Station historic preserva
tion committee and health educa
tion coordinator at A.P. Beutel
Health Center.

cussed possible action on a Neigh- -
borhood Recognition Program
Residents in the historic area of Col
lege Station who remodel, re-land
scape or improve their home maybe ,
recognized by the city. Nomination
are made by neighbors or others if
the community, Jasek said.
The idea behind this is to recognize
people who restore or enhance thehu
toric area, Jasek said. The details oftlx
program have not been finalized.
