The Texas A&M Volleyball Team extended its home-match winning streak to 14 games last night, defeating the Texas Tech Universi ty Red Raiders, 15-3, 15-9, 15-2, at G. Rollie White Coliseum. The Aggies improve to 19-4 overall and 10-3 in the Big 12 Conference, while the Red Raiders fall to 15-11 and 4-9 in the Big 12. The Aggies began the match with kills from senior outside hitter Summer Strickland and se nior middle blocker Lauri Leahy. A&M jumped to a quick 6-1 lead before Texas Tech called a timeout. But the Aggies continued to dominate on the net, and extended their lead to 9-2. After another Red Raider timeout, Strickland pounded five kills and recorded a block assist to end the first game. Like game one, the Aggies jumped to a 5-0 lead to start the second game with kills from sophomore outside hitter Michelle Cole and se nior middle blocker Amber Woolsey. A&M found its lead extended to 9-1 before the Red Raiders began clawing their way back. Tech rallied four straight points to cut the lead to 10-5 when A&M called its first timeout of the match. The Aggies posted two more points with a block by Woolsey and a kill from sophomore setter Jenna Moscovic, but Texas Tech would not go away. The Aggies reached their first game point on a Red Raider hitting error but could not put the second game away. Finally, on the fourth game point, Strickland recorded a kill to end game two. The third game also started with a 5-0 run by A&M. Hitting and service errors plagued Texas Tech, which did not manage to score a point until the Aggies jumped to a 12-0 lead. oeing has . better for nights.
