for the gift in September of 1998.
“The committee, a group of five,
got some of the ideas through e-mail
and ballot boxes located around
campus,” Smith said.
“We researched the options and
chose those that would be most fea
sible cost and time wise.”
Smith said the money for the gift
has been raised throughout the four
years the Class of '99 has attended
A&M.
“Money for this project has come
from Boot Dance, Ring Dance, E-
Walk, T-shirt and other merchandise
sales,” Smith said. “We have been
raising this money all four years.”
Smith said all options are feasi
ble, but the pavilion woilj
longest to implement, if
choices, such as the
various endowments,wot

tunities to get involved and to keep

Neil Lewis said he has no specific
central platform but he would like to
have more interaction between stu
dents and the student body president.
“Students need to feel they have
a voice in student government and
that they are a part of the decision
making,” he said.
Lewis said he can talk and listen
to students on a personal level.
“Some [Student Government As
sociation] members do not think
about what the students want but
what they want, themselves,” he
said. “I am someone who wants to
do what is right for the student
body. ”
