The eighth-ranked Texas A&M
Baseball Team will face its tough
est challenge of the early season
this weekend when they host 19th-
ranked Oklahoma State University.
This series has always been close
since these two teams usually mir
ror each other.
Oklahoma State comes into the
series riding a five game winning
streak with an 8-1 record. They bring
in a team that combines a mixture of
strong hitting and pitching.
Game one of the series will see
a pitching duel between two of the
top pitchers in the country. OSU
will hurl their staff ace Matt Smith
against A&M’s lefty ace, Casey Pos
sum. Smith, a sophomore from
Nevada, boasts a 3-0 record with
an ERA under one. Possum is 2-1
and has already struck out 25 bat
ters in 20 innings of work.
“I feel pretty good about carry
ing over what I did last week to this
series,” Possum said. “I just go out
there and try to do my best every
time.”
This duel dates back to last year
