Once again, the Aggies will be without one of their seniors— Vanessa Rooks. Last season’s Big 12 No. 2 singles champion is list ed as doubtful for the match due to an illness. The Aggies have enjoyed much success over the Red Raiders through the years, and A&M holds a 19-1 overall advantage in the series. Following the Texas Tech match, the Aggies will travel on to Boulder, Colo., for another Big 12 match with the Colorado Buffaloes scheduled for Sunday at 10 a.m. Brutal weath er in Boulder may cause the match USL tennis match postponed toy rain The No. 27-ranked Texas A&M Men’s Tennis Team led 1-0 over the No. 54-ranked Southwestern Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns Thursday at the Omar Smith Tennis Center when rain postponed the match until a later date. The Aggies, remaining 6-2, con tinued their doubles streak as they once again captured the all-impor tant point. But it took a tiebreaker to accomplish this task. The A&M duo of freshman Dumitru Caradima and junior Brent Horan battled USL’s Rafael Fontes and Eduardo Gordiho to a 9-8 (7-5) win at No. 2 and a claim to the doubles point. The Aggies were nearing comple tion of the first set in singles when rain washed out any hope of finish ing the match on Thursday. USL had a schedule conflict which would not allow them to attempt to complete the match on Friday, but both coaches hope to arrange a date later in the spring in order to com plete the match. In other completed doubles action, A&M’s tandem of freshman Shuon Madden and senior Carlos Tori ousted USL’s Dimitri Lorin and Ricardo Diniz, 8-2, at No. 1. At No. 3 doubles, USL’s Bruno Puzzi and Michael Jordan beat A&M’s Rafeal de Mesa and Cody Hubbell, 8-4. The Aggies next match is scheduled for Saturday when they play No. 40-ranked Texas Christian at noon at the Omar Smith Tennis Center.
