Titanic sails away with record sales LOS ANGELES (AP) — Titanic re placed Jurassic Park as the No. 3 all- time domestic moneymaker while topping the nation’s box office for a ninth weekend, according to industry estimates Sunday. The blockbuster, which earned a record-tying 14 Academy Award nominations, beat out a trio of new films. It grossed $27.5 million for a North American total of $370.9 million, Exhibitor Relations Co., Inc. reported. Jurassic Park, with $357.1 mil lion, drops to No. 4 on the all- time list. Titanic now only trails behind Star Wars, which earned $461 mil lion, and E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial, with $399.8 million. Estimated grosses for the top 10 movies at North American theaters for Friday through Sunday: 1. Titanic, $27.5 million. 2. The Wedding Singer, million. 3. Sphere, $15.2 million 4.
