TX 77805 Coffee Continued from Page 3 The most popular smoothie is Zonko Power, which consists of all-natural strawberries, bananas, honey, proteins and vitamins. “It’s an energizing smoothie and can be used as a meal re placer,” Pulido said. “We serve the students and the faculty, and after drinking our drinks we want them to feel good about themselves because they did something healthy.” Leigh Ann Robinson, a sopho more speech communication major, likes the variety at Zonko’s. “Zonko’s is great because you can get not just coffee, but also smoothies. Plus, it’s close to campus, so you can walk instead of having to drive.” Recently, Zonko’s began to expand their menu to serve homemade ice cream, milk shakes and panini sandwiches. Pulido said the atmosphere at Zonko’s is a mixture of French and Spanish themes. “One of our main features is the copper bar. Also, we have a mural painted by a French artist, Pika, who lives in Houston.” Zonko’s also offers patio seat ing with candles and an umbrel la at each table. In a college town with as many students as A&M has, there a variety of coffee shops to serve your needs. So if you are looking for a place to study, talk with friends or just get a great cup of coffee, try any of these coffee shops for a new and unique place to hang out.
