Hamelers also said the Replant
committee hopes to gain more par
ticipants from the Bryan-College
Station community for ’98 Replant.
She said Replant is working on pre
sentations to promote awareness at
the elementary, middle and high
schools in Bryan-College Station.
“One of our main goals is to in
crease involvement within the
Bryan-College Station community,”
Hamelers said. “We have been going
to businesses and [we are working
on] planting trees at local schools.”

Corps Center.
Maj. Gen. M.T. “Ted” Hopgood,
commandant of the Corps of
Cadets, presided over the cere
monies.
“Out of the Corps of Cadets
come many outstanding individu
als,” he said. “The former cadets we
honor today have truly excelled.”
Dr. Ray M. Bowen, University
president, said he recognized the val
ues the Corps instills in its students.
“The Hall of Honor serves two
purposes,” he said. “It is to honor
outstanding former cadets and to
teach a high standard of leadership.
The Aggies we recognize today will
help point the way for the future of
the Corps.”
Eight former cadets were select
ed initially for the Hall of Honor.
Four new members are chosen
each year to join the distinguished
group.
