After a successful weekend on the road, the 14th-ranked Texas A&M Volleyball Team returns to College Station to play the Houston Cougars tonight at 7:00 p.m. The Aggies are heading into tonight’s game on a major roll. They have won 10 of their last 11 games and are playing a UH team that they beat 3-0 two weeks ago. “Even though this is not a con ference game, we could really use this game to polish ourselves,” said junior outside hitter Stacy Sykora. “Houston is a good team. They always give us trouble here at home, so we know we will have to play hard. We want to come away with a win, but we also want to improve on the litde things and get some other players more playing time.” The Aggies are an astounding 41-0 under Coach Laura Corbelli in home games against unranked teams. With some teams that kind of home court advantage could lead to overconfidence and a cocky attitude, but that does not seem to be a problem with these Aggies. “We are not a team that talks trash or gets overconfident,” Sykora said. “When two teams are compet ing, natural tempers become part of the game and things will be said. But we are a team that lets our play do the talking.” UH comes to Aggieland with an 8-5 record and a five game win ning streak. Coach Bill Walton, who is not the obnoxious bi ball announcer, will be wii one of his top players, se: Debbie Yokes. Yokes, who is on the UH career kills list, is with a stress fracture. This game will be one th help the Ags prepare for upcoming conference b; Coach Corbelli is planning to this game to work on blocfc serving, and ball handling. “Good ball handling is very: ical in this game,” Corbelli “We have always stressed our handling skills, but we have he work so much on our offense defense to become a top team our concentration on ball! dling has let up and I think showing a little, so we are re working on that area of ourgai The Aggies are coining offbi to-back 3-1 victories at Baylor Texas Tech, two games thatbi been frustrating in the past. “It’s really stressful to plat the road,” said coach Corbi “The teams you play are alwaii their best on their home co because they love the chanci ( knock off a top team like Ai this yea They are just waiting for us to in their gym. I’m just reallypr: at how we handled the possib; of having a let down. Volleyba a game of ups and downs anti really stayed together and ts very focused on what we neei to do.” Perhaps, it is the mo’ wins have, the mo’ problems that with the territory.
