The A&M chapter of the National Organization ofWomen (NOW) also is sponsoring tonight’s rally. Crissy Gonzalez, vice president of the organization and a senior sociolo gy major, said the problem of date rape at A&M is bigger than people think. “It is a combination of covering up the problem and not publicizing that there is a problem,” Gonzalez said. She said tonight’s rally aims to bring about awareness. “It is for the people who don’t real ize that they know people who have been assaulted,” Gonzalez said. “It is kind of a prevention and awareness.” Castoria said the main reason women do not report rape is a feel ing of fear. “There is a feeling of being partly responsible," Castoria said. “All sur vivors feel this way. There is a myth that women are responsible and should be able to prevent it, but men are responsible as well.” Wiatt said while the police cannot force women to come forward, they do encourage them to report rapes. “There are a lot more date rapes THINK AHEAD. APPLY TODAY.” CALL I'SOO'CITIBANK © 1997 Citibank (South Dakota), N.A. All Positions arc Pa'
