It is obvious that we he most red-ass class to ever come through eland. There is only one problem, Ags. If ne were to come to our class meetings, they lit not know just how proud we are. You see, about 20 people attend these meetings. My for next year is to increase class participa- through more class socials and mixers. I tat least 99 people at every meeting. I am ing for Class of ’99 vice president, and yes, I sking for your vote. But more importantly, I Wring for your support in our class. I am tallenging you to make an effort to come out $ Si i show your pride in the Class of ’99.1 have no e i|bt that we are the best class ever. Let’s make eno one else has any doubt either. Thank you lour time. Gig 'em and God bless. (Next class eeting: April 9, 301 Rudder.) As a whole, Class Council has done some tremen dous things this year. The “Fahrffomwhoopiri” t-shirts were a huge success, and they sold more than previous sophomore class t-shirts. Presently, we are selling win dow stickers for your car, and they are selling well, too. This year’s council had some extraordinary and original ideas, and we have several more for the future. There are two reasons why you should re-elect me into office. One, I have the experience. I was the Public Relations Chair for the Class of '99 when I was a fresh man, and I am VP this year. I know how council works and what needs to be done to make sure our class is the best. Second, you need to elect someone who will dedi cate their time and energy to your class. This isn't by far a part-time job, and it requires hard work and con sistency. I know how much time and effort is needed to make our class shine. I have been working hard for the Class of ’99 for two years. If you love the way your Class Council is working, re-elect your officers to ensure continued success. My name is Mandy Gomez, and I am running for vice president of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Class of 1999. Howdy! I’m Brandon Garrett and I am one of the proudest members of the Class of 2000! At Fish Camp, counselors stressed “the other education,” so I took their advice. Now I’m involved in Fish Aides, Legislative Relations, Senate, Class Council, Executive Lecture Series, SBSLC, ExCEL, MEDALS, FACES, and Fish Camp. I want to be vice president of the Class of 2000 and I will serve my class well. My ideas and objec tives are to continue with the goals set by the cur rent Executive Council, as well as adding a few. We need to have more people involved and aware of our class projects. One of my ideas for making this a reality is setting up a division of Class Council dedicated to speaking and informing organiza tions about our class ideas. I also want to see a new tradition implemented. The Freshmen have Fish Olympics and Fish Ball and the Juniors and Seniors have a variety of activi ties (i.e. Ring Dance, E-Walk, etc.), the Sophomores have nothing. Something is definitely needed for a class as special as the Class of ‘00 and I intend to arrange some form of expression for our spirit. I realize as I near the end of my Fish year, how much this school has given me and how much it means to me. I think that its time for me to give something back to the university that has given me so much, and with the help of the Fighting Texas Aggie Class of‘001 can do it. Gig ‘em ’00! am Toliver Kyle Valentine Hank Ballinger IDIDATE FOR CLASS OF '00 VlCE PRESIDENT Candidate for Class of '00 Vice President m m If selected as Class of 2000 vice jgK-., president, I will fulfill the two goals 1 of Class Council: class promotion and fund raising. As the Class of 1 2000, we have been given a tremen- Y | dous responsibility and opportunity , to close out the 20th century and w | establish a precedence for the class- w < t (ey to meeting this challenge is knowledge of i activities and fund raisers, fth knowledge comes involvement and with llvement comes influence. In order to inform our would distribute a monthly calendar either t (Pugh the Residential Advisors or by placing a stack finjP to The Battalion. This monthly calendar would ^itide the Class of 2000’s many activities. Dates, 2® sand locations of the voluntary committees of Class Council could be included. Knowledge of m raising events will allow our class to raise the le pds necessary to present an honorable class gift to IsA&M that is a token of our respect for this uni- jdfty I would also utilize the Class of 2000 e-mail %eb page, and suggestion box to keep the class Mated. , Ibelieve that there is power in numbers. Increased |fi ivolvement will lead to more ideas being presented, p ideas can be refined to create the most effec- Jone. In other words, student input is necessary to • Jfluence the activities of the Class of 2000. [Jfte more active our class is in our student govern- pit, the more responsive it will be to our desires. Howdy fellow Ags, How do you feel about promot ing communication, involvement and unity throughout the Class of 2000? My name is Kyle Valentine, and I have based my campaign and goals upon these three basic concepts. I am running for the position of vice president for the Class of 2000. One thing I have discovered in college is e- mail. I would like to devise a monthly newslet ter to keep our class informed about the hap penings of our class and its role in the events taking place and become more involved. By get ting involved, we are building relationships and uniting our class. Turning these goals into realities requires experience, leadership and ideas. As current Associate Chair of Texas Aggies Making Changes, I have seen the inner workings of stu dent government at Texas A&M first hand. Government is based upon ideas of the people. Class of 2000,1 want to know your ideas and opinions. Listening to fellow Aggies would be a major and exclusive priority of mine. I want to represent the Class of 2000. Through leadership and ideas, the goals of my campaign are attainable we are leading Texas A&M into the next millennium, why not lead it in the right direction? Remember to vote Kyle Valentine on Mar. 26 and 27. RHA President Candidate My main vision as RHA President would be to make the on-campus community at Texas A&M the best in the nation. Goals while in office: 1) Give hall councils and ordi nary residents a more direct voice in changing and improving on-campus life. 2) Make living on campus in residence halls a fun and close-knit community. 3) Let other student organizations know about the variety of successful programming and leadership opportunities that RHA pro vides. I have worked closely with RHA the past two years as programs director and currently serve as communications coordinator. While I was programs director, I coordinated the first ever Tug-of-Honor. I hope to see this activity become an Aggie tradition for years to come. More recently, I was responsible for presenting A&M’s bid for Texas School of the Year. We have not received this award in over ten years. Much to my delight, Texas A&M was honored with the School of the Year title two weeks ago. I have seen what a tremendous impact that RHA can make in changing policy and student life. Through programming and leadership opportu nities, the Texas A&M RHA can make on-cam pus living the best in the nation. I want to lead RHA to this next level.
