As you choose your next State Representative on November 5th, Jim Hartley would like you to ^ I remember only one thing. J\m Hartley State Representative - District 13 Dear Fellow Texans: t state Representative, I have attempted to define the major In my campaign to be your mvself I respect my opponent, yet I believe we substantive differences between my opponent and myselt. L respect n y VV look at problems in very differently. My opponent’s voting record clearly shmyshis behef m the government’s ability to improve our lives. I, on the other hand, place my trust in the people of Texas and of District 13. Whether by changing government or changing their own lives, one person can make a difference. One person can improve their community. And yes, one person can improve their state. 1 do not seek office for personal glory or political advancement. 1 simply want to offer my time and my energy to improving our community and making our state a better place to live and raise a family. Over the course of this campaign for State Representative, I have traveled throughout our district to carry my positive message of financial responsibility and government accountability to as many people as possible. I’ve met a few neighbors, and 1 hope I’ve made a few friends. More importantly, I hope I’ve changed a few minds about what we should expect from our elected “voice” in the Texas House ot Representatives. Leadership is something more than just holding public office. A good leader doesnt just react to problems, but actively seeks solutions. I feel our state government is heading in the wrong direction and no longer represents the traditional Texas values of hard work, independence and integrity. Whether they are skyrocketing taxes, unlimited spending or a substandard education system, the problems which endanger our children’s future are intimidating. 1 am not a politician, and 1 won’t try to claim that 1 can personally solve all the problems in state government. However, with your help, I would like to offer my time, my energy and my complete devotion to making Texas a better place for all of us. One person CAN make a difference. Thank you, <^T axiltj Jim Hartley Candidate for State Representative District 13 In Texas, One person CAN make a difference. PI). POL. AD BY HARTLEY REPRESENTATIVE CAMPAIGN, WILBURN E. The doctorate plan would prob ably consist of two to three years of course work, he said, followed by the writing of a dissertation. “We would admit people to the degree plan contingent upon their fulfilling Texas A&M’s curriculum requirements for the B.A. and M.A. in speech communication,” Med hurst said. The proposal for the doctorate in speech communication has been approved by the Board of Re gents and has been submitted to the Coordinating Board for final approval. Douglas said the doctorate in speech communication and the bachelor of arts in music, if ap proved will be taught on the Col lege Station campus.
