Police conclude car
wreck investigation
The Bryan Police Department
has concluded the investigation of
the Sept. 22 truck accident that
claimed the life of one Texas A&M
student and injured nine others.
After a month-long investigation of
accident reports, witness statements
and physical evidence test results,
police concluded that traveling at an
unsafe speed caused the accident.
The truck was traveling approximately
76 mph in a 70 mph zone.
Sarah Marie Fullen, driver of the
truck and a sophomore history major,
was issued a traffic ticket for unsafe
speed — too fast for conditions.
Juveniles hold A&M
student at gunpoint
Monday at about 10:52 p.m., a
22-year-old Texas A&M student
was held at gunpoint by two juve
niles who demanded money from
him. When the victim showed them
he did not have any money, the
subjects ran away.
A UPD patrol officer stopped the
15- and 16-year-old subjects in
Parking Area 40. The officer found
a .357-caliber Magnum revolver on
the 16-year-old and a .40-caliber
semi-automatic pistol on the 15-
year-old. Both handguns were
loaded and were possibly stolen in
a burglary.
The officer also found marijua
na on the subjects.
Both subjects were taken to the
Juvenile Detention Center and
were charged with aggravated rob
bery in an area where weapons
are prohibited.
"As I’ve said before, this cam
pus is a microcosm of society,”
UPD Director Bob Wiatt said.
“Folks have to be aware that bad
things happen here.”
The subjects were from the
north side of Bryan.
Surgery result of
possible KA hazing
A member of the Kappa Alpha
Order had a testicle surgically re

hazing incident on Oct. 14.
The University Police Depart
ment referred the case to the Bra
zos County Sheriff’s Department.
Officials say the case is cur
rently under investigation by the
Department of Student Affairs.
Former cadet could
be victim of hazing
The father of a Texas A&M
Corps of Cadets’ member called
the University Police Department
on Oct. 21 to report that his son
was possibly a victim of hazing.
