Katie Gibson,College Station recycling coordinator, attended the conference and said being featured at the conference was a special opportunity. “They (representatives from Cos ta Rica) came to visit our city and the campus and liked our programs, so they asked us to come to their country and help them set up a sim ilar program,” Gibson said. “It was a wonderful experience.” Along with the trip to Costa Rica, winning the TNRCC Award has mo tivated Clean Cities 2000 volunteers. Kathryn Anthony, assistant direc tor of public works, said the recogni tion in Costa Rica motivated them to continue their excellence. “It gives us incentive to keep pursuing the program because we’ve been getting positive recognition,” Anthony said. “It was nice to have work we have been doing be recognized.” You bring the engineering degree.
