Parents:
Macmanuses
to represent
Texas A&M
Continued from Page 1
“The way we have always
pictured an Aggie is as a good
leader, a strong person with a
good personality, and that’s my
parents to a tee.”
Jerry Macmanus, Class of ’49,
is a member of the Twelfth Man
Foundation and the Texas Aggie
Corps of Cadets Association.
“I was in the Corps, all five
of my sons have been in the
Corps, and the four who have
graduated have gone on to mil
itary service,” he said. “And I
guess Paul will, too.”
Caroline Macmanus is a
member of the Rio Grande Val
ley Aggie Mother’s Club.
The Macmanus children came
from around Texas and even
Alaska to honor their parents.
“This was a once in a life
time event,” Paul Macmanus
said. “So of course we were all
going to be there.”
He said his parents have in
spired him to succeed, always
offering unconditional support.
“I was a little bit different
from all my older brothers,” he
said. “They all played football,
but I played basketball in
stead. He (his father) never
said anything or questioned
my decisions. He came to all of
my games and was the loudest
voice in the stands.
“He was like that for all of
us kids ...”
As the 1996-97 Parents of
the Year, the Macmanuses will
represent A&M at events both
on and off campus throughout
the next year.
“We’re just waiting anxious
ly to find out what we’re sup
posed to do,” Jerry Macmanus
said. “We’re looking forward to
it. Even though it is a long dri
ve, we can’t think of a better
way to spend our time.”

across the country to find the answers to 50 tricky questions
that cover more than 40 years of Playboy’s history.
SUGAR RAY
If your school gets the most correct answers,
you win the contest—and Playboy will present a FREE LIVE
CONCERT on your campus this May with two of the hottest
new bands in the country!
ARE YOU UP
FOR IT?
Playmate Carrie Westcott, host of
Playboy TV’s music video show "Hot
Rocks," will MC the event and air a
selection of the hottest uncut videos
from some of your favorite artists.
BUT FIRST YOU GOTTA ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS. HEY, NOBODY EVER SAID WINNING WOULD BE EASY
