For infrastructure basic service in every Texas school of grades kindergarten through 12th, the cost of one computer in every classroom would be $1.5 billion. To develop funding for pub lic services, the bill created a Telecommunications Funding Board to collect a $1.5 billion award to public services. Along with money, the board will also provide mater ial and curriculum for schools and universities. "If you do not have curriculum and knowledge of the equipment it just sits idle." — Mark Ansboury manager of the Texas Telecommunications Division “If you do not have curricu lum and knowledge of the equipment it just sits idle,” Ansboury said. “I have seen schools purchase telecommu nications material just for the sake of spending money on hardware and not ever use it.” Ansboury said that because of the shortage of funds and fast pace technology, he has seen more government at the city and federal level team up with schools and univf: s to obtain telecommunij hardware.
