44 ...it is about tapping an ocean of creativity, passion and energy that, as far as we can see, has no bottom and no shores. Jack Welch, CEO How would you describe GE’s work environment? Open, inspiring, charged, fast-paced, non-bureaucratic, apolitical. We think you’ll agree these are particularly appealing adjectives. We believe in being “boundaryless.” We’ve taken down walls that divide people, eliminated hierarchies and stripped out bureaucratic processes company-wide. And it’s worked. We are a 60 billion dollar global enterprise whose extremely diverse range of businesses are number one or number two in their markets. Others look to us for management best practices and our financial results have shareholders cheering. We want to hear from Bachelor’s and Master’s degree candidates. If you are bright, creative, passionate about your work and determined to make things happen, we want you to know we find these to be particularly appealing qualities. We’ll be on campus this Fall. Since when has it become an Aggie tradition to be so drunk at a football game that you can’t stand up? My husband and I attended the A&M game last weekend and sat in the Aggie section. Right behind us was a young man so drunk he literally could not stand up. He fell down on an older lady standing next to me and knocked her down almost as soon as the game started. After that incident, he proceeded to down yet another drink and while doing so, he dropped the drink and spilled it all over my back. Still later in the game he fell down again, this time on me. I was more fortunate than the lady beside me and was able to keep from falling down. This person was a disgrace to himself. I do not like to see A&M's reputation demolished. I have some advice for this young man’s friends, too. You should have done your friend a favor by taking him back to his room, or at least cutting him off. He was in no condition to keep drinking, and you all knew it. Melanie Held! Moritz Class of ’89 placed firmly on the pulse of Aggieland. I agree with her 100 percent about Gerry Adams. We don’t need murderers like him tarnishing A&M’s reputa tion. Just who is Wiley Lecture Series accountable to? Other than the communists in the Stu dents Programs Office, no one! 1 propose that a committee be formed to check on all pro grams approved by the SP0 to make sure that their content is morally acceptable to the stu dent body. 1 think that all students would agree with me that no one cares anything about listening to the views of someone who is responsible for the death of thousands of innocent people. Of course, it would be differ ent if the person was a patriot upholding his countrymen’s highest ideals or “following or ders,” like Oliver North, but Gerry Adams is no Ollie. The only thing good thing to be said about Adams is that he is not a homosexual Until we can end this as sault of depravity waged on us by the Student Programs Office and set up some semblance of a moral standard governing what students should and should not be exposed to, we must rally around people such as Percival, so that we may avoid the rocky and treacherous shores of liber alism and sail toward are more perfect world order. proof that Gerry Adamsi terrorist.
