Bernie Gessner, owner of Ag

dance will be a way to get some
thing positive out of the noisy,
inconvenient summer construc
tion project.
Hot dogs, pizza rolls and soft
drinks will be sold, and all prof

Scholarship Fund, which is be
ing created by the Northgate
Merchants Association.
At 6 p.m., a ribbon
cutting ceremony will
officially begin what
Northgate merchants
hope will be a period
of revitalization and
growth, v
John Raney,- owner
of Texas Aggie Book
store, said he hopes
the street dance will
increase awareness of North-
gate services.
“We want people to come see
the new street,” he said. “We
want people to get accustomed to
coming to Northgate. Northgate
has a lot to offer.”
Richard Benning, owner of
Duddley’s Draw and Fitzwilly’s,
said the celebration will be a
way to show off the work that
has been completed in the revi
talization project.
“Everyone can get an impres
sion of what Northgate is going
to be like,” he said. “We’re doing
this so the citizens of College
Station can see how the money
is being used.”
Northgate merchants said
they hope the street dance,
which was organized quickly
this month, will become an an
nual event.
Benning said that next year
the dance might be expanded to
include children’s games and
hay rides.
In order to comply with city
noise statutes, the celebration
will end at 11 p.m.
"We're doing this so the citi
