Lisa Morgan, a spokesperson from LifeSavers, said of the 5,000 calls they have already received, creativity does not seem to have been a problem. “We have gotten everything from Elvis yodels, rap and Beavis and Butt-head yodels, so you can imagine how funny it has gotten,” Morgan said. As one of the first forms of mountain communication, yodeling has been used for everything from safety signals on the mountain tops to mating calls. LifeSavers has opened the contest to any yodeling style from reggae, or gospel to opera and classical, however they do prohibit professional musicians from entering. The first 100,000 yodelers to respond will be entered in the contest, and one winner will be named for the six-day vacation for two to Switzerland. The prize includes an all-day trip on the Glacier Express, a sightseeing train through the mountains.
