Weather Continued from Page 1 sitive documents to a Dallas mort gage company. "I tried to talk our boss into giving us hazard pay." Admittedly three hours late, Reed said, "Everybody is just happy to see me at all today." Jon Sykes, a 17-year-old high school senior who delivers airline tickets for a Dallas travel agency, said he ran up on the grass across the street from his job. Sykes said he took advantage of the day off school by doing doughnuts in a parking lot with his pal. Josh Jacobs. "We had our seat belts on," he said. Jacobs said he managed to get his 1976 Mercury Monarch start ed despite his father's attempt to sabotage his efforts by removing the coil from the car's distributor cap. The weather also delayed the start of two big trials in the state — the ethics trial of U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison in Fort Worth and the San Antonio trial of 11 Branch Davidians charged in con nection with the shooting deaths of federal agents near Waco last February. Although the Tarrant County Justice Center closed for the day, jury selection resumed in the Hutchison case.
