Ben Dale, Student Senate academic affairs chairman, said guilty; ties should be punished. "If this is true, I think guilty parties should be held accountablt their actions," Dale said. "If the situations were reversed andStui Government did something like this, our funding would be cut off, would be removed from our positions and be punished." Student Body President Brian Walker said he didn't agree witk actions of the individuals involved. "Aggies don't lie, cheat or steal," Walker said. "If somefc; changed vouchers to reflect the purchase of something thatwasi* purchased, no, I cannot endorse that." Chris Thompson, RHA president, said University officials sht adhere to the rules. "Since the reputation of our school is at stake in situations li think the regents should try to follow the same rules studentsi Thompson said. "If they used state funds to pay for alcohol,,Hu parents would not be happy knowing their taxes were going ton: buying booze for regents." Courtney Joyner, Fish Camp director, said this sends out a mess of the University following "double standards." "As students, we are told not to cheat in class and to alwaysfd the rules," Joyner said. "If this is true, whoever is responsible forck ing the vouchers obviously doesn't know how to follow the rules did nothing more than cheat the University. I think they need toevi ate the message they're sending." Gang Violence Continued from Page 1 Several members of the community have responded totherii crime rate by establishing the Citizens Crime Commission, a locak nization that looks for solutions to crime. Members of the commission meet periodically to help busines schools and law-enforcement agencies look for solutions to pre gang violence. McCarver, a member of the commission, describes the soluti searching as a positive group activity . "The idea of a police substation at the mall was kicked aroun while, but no definite decision was made," McCarver said. "I cant if we will implement one in the future." In an effort to keep trouble at a minimum, security officers k morning and afternoon shifts with four or five officers walking malls.
