Bobbitt, in his first media interview since the June 23 attack, said he was the one abused in the couple's four-year marriage, whichsan two separations and two reconciliations. He said his wife, Lorena, would hit him “if something didn't gc her way. She was always the volatile one." Bobbitt, 26, spoke to the syndicated TV program “American Joui nal" in an interview scheduled for broadcast Monday and Tuesday. Mrs. Bobbitt, 24, of Manassas, Va., claims her husband repeatedli abused her and that she cut off his penis after he forced her to havi sex. Two days earlier, Mrs. Bobbitt asked about court protection froir her husband, but left without going to a judge, a court counselortes tified at the trial. Mrs. Bobbitt is considering a temporary insanity plea at her mail cious wounding trial, scheduled for Nov. 29. Bobbitt, a part-time laborer and bar doorman, was acquitted las: week of marital sexual assault. He said he forgives his wife for he; actions. “I think about her. I not he Bookstore owner fed up with Limbaugh The Associated Press SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - Mayor Neal Coonerty thinks Rush Lim- baugh's “See, I Told You So" is worth its weight in baloney — about $8.40. So he's donating part of the proceeds from the copies he sells at his bookstore to the liberal causes Limbaugh hates. Coonerty, who owns Bookshop Santa Cruz, said he is fed up with the conservative radio commenta tor's attacks on Santa Cruz as a left-leaning city. So he's selling the book for the regular price of $23 but donating the difference between that price and the $8.40 “value" to the Na tional Organization for Women and the Santa Cruz AIDS Project. The book weighs 1.4 pounds. “We wanted to turn him into a liberal fund-raiser," said Cooner ty, who will lose $5.60 per book. In the past, Limbaugh has de scribed Santa Cruz, hometoa campus of the University of Cali fornia, as a “true haven for fuzzy- thinking, ultra-left-wing liberals,.. and arrogant politicians with ab solutely no business sense." A spokesman for Limbaugh declined to comment Monday. Harmon Continued from Page 1 "I always look for an enhanced professional opportunity, and this is an excellent opportu nity." - Dr. William H. Harmon, current vice chancelloi for student affairs at the University of Pittsburgh, the trust of students. "At some point, I would hope that I too could develop the kind of relationship that Koldus had with the students here," he said. "I would not be interested in becoming a Koldus. I would want to begin to develop my own lega cy." He said during his visit he met students that are heavily involved on campus, but he wants to meet with students who are less in volved. "I'm more concerned with the students not as heavily involved," he said. "Those are the ones we need to touch base. Students that are in volved are more likely to gradu ate, have a connection with the University and enjoy their overall experience here. "Involvement here will deter mine their involvement in larger society, and our job is to develop the leadership for the 21st centu ry." Heather Hartman, MSC council president, said Harmon seems very committed to students and particularly concerned with their development. "He is very focused and driven when it comes to something he cares about," she said. Harmon said many A&M stu dents asked him why he would want to leave Pittsburgh and come here. "I try not to limit myself," he said. "I always look for an en hanced professional opportunity, and this is an excellent opportuni ty." He said the administrative changes going on now will have an impact on the future of Texas A&M. "This is one of the reasons I see A&M on the threshold," he said. "It is at a critical juncture," he said. Harmon is the fourth of si) candidates to be interviewed foi the position. The search committee is ex pected to make a decision by early next semester. 2 student tickets to T.U. game. (Guest pass preferred). Will pay 693-0217.
