Some of them enjoyed their first hot shower in days. Donated goods were being shipped into hurri cane-battered Florida and Louisiana from across the country by individuals, community groups and cor porations. The first arrivals at the tent camps were registered by the Red Cross, treated to a bag of toiletries and stationery, then escorted to their tents by luggage- toting men in uniform. "A Marine brought our stuff," marveled Ernest Guzman, who was settling into a camp in Home stead with his two children where showers had been connected. "We've got valet service The five tent cities — two run by the Marines, two Army and one Navy — have room for 3,752 people, of f a tiny percentage of the tens of thousands left home luce the te spring "We'll lesses'On pirited c )otato e tops," sai (resident 1 p nip any. -ay's and 'hips. Still, they offered some of Andrew's victims a sign that the federal government, sharply criticized as sluggish and inefficient in the first days after the storm, was serious about providing help. And, one day after Busn's second tour of the storm wreckage, three Cabinet-level secretaries were in the area. Death toll rises to eight in Louisiana THE ASSOCIATED PRESS NEW ORLEANS — Louisiana's death toll from the hurricane climbed to eight Tuesday with the recovery of four bodies in the Gulf of Mexico. Joe Gibson, a Coast Guard spokesman, said one had been identified as Tuan Hoang Le, owner of a converted shrimp boat which probably went down in the storm with six aboard. Names of the other three were not determined. All were believed to be from Bayou LaBatre, Ala. Meanwhile, Coast Guard planes searched for two others who may have been aboard — which would bring the state's total to 10. Previously Louisiana counted two dead in tornadoes the night of the hurricane and two others who died in accidents related to power failures after the storm. In addition, a body was found in the Atchafalaya River at Mor gan City. Police Chief Danny Dos- sett said Tuesday he was waiting for an autopsy to determine if the death was hurricane related. The victim was not immediate ly identified. Gibson said wreckage of a sail boat was found Tuesday 35 miles southeast of Grand Isle - three big white sails and a hull floating in the Gulf — but no bodies were found. A Coast Guard diver was flown to the scene to try to determine the name of the vessel, he said. There were no reports of miss ing or overdue ships, the Coast Guard said. fi Topeka he two tr 'eceive th quipmei hinner ch "No oni oroll it tl ;ree of pt 1st figure Jver the jgiiori sai He saie Months to lent to Fi -Obakerie: Tortilla fat ar tops, hav ig sales tl he past se er . it may billior Stows as I; Market for CQ/l/IPUTER CA 386SX-25 Minitower Case 2MB RAM 1.44 MB (3.5in) floppy drive 80 MB Hard Drive VGA color graphics card w/512K VGA color monitor 2sorial/1 parallel/1 game port MS compativel mouse lOI key keyboard FCC Class B approved system 2 year parts and labor warranty $999 Great for Students!
