Page 10 The Battalion Monday, November 12, 1 Cowboys can’t stop 49ers’ winning streak IRVING (AP) — Joe Montana completed 12 passes to Jerry Rice for 147 yards and a touchdown on Sunday night, keeping alive the San Francisco 49ers hopes for a perfect season with a 24-6 victory over the downtrodden Dallas Cowboys. Montana, playing his first game in Texas Stadium, led the 49ers to their ninth consecutive victory this season to stay tied with the New York Gi ants as the only unbeaten teams in the NFL. He completed 27 of 37 passes for 290 yards and capped the perfor mance by scoring on a 4-yard run with 3:12 to play to put away the punchless Cowboys. Dallas dropped to 3-7 as it lost to the 49ers for the sixth consecutive time. San Francisco won its 17th consec utive game, including playoffs, and extended its NFL regular-season re cord of 15 consecutive road victo ries. Montana didn’t play in last year’s 31-14 victory and hadn’t made an appearance in the Dallas area since he guided Notre Dame to a 35-34 victory over Houston in the 1979 Cotton Bowl. Kyle Field Ramp Romp begins this morning at 10:00 at Kyle Field. r The Texas A&M Polo Teams competed against Colorado State University on November 3 and 4 at Dick Freeman Arena. The TAMU women's team won by a score of 10-2. Kristin Matlack, Rene Sewell and Josie Mayor played for the TAMU women's team. The men's team lost to the #1 nationally ranked CSU men's team. The TAMU men's team is a young team in the rebuilding process and are seeing vast improvements every time out. On this team were Todd Perry, Steven Beal and Bradley Sinor. The first annual Kyle Field Ramp Romp will take place this Saturday, November 17, 1990, starting at 10:00 a.m. The course will consis t of a run through Texas A&M University campus culminating at Kyle Field where runners will tackle the ramps of the Football Stadium. The course is 3.1 miles with approximately 2 miles within the campus and the ramps measuring a little over a mile in length. Entry fees for TAMU students is $5.00 and $8.00 for all others.
