Missy Leyendecker, a mother and senior at A&M, says most people take don’t realize how much time it takes to get a child to a babysitter and make it to class on time. “I have to leave for class 40 min utes earlier than most students do,’’she says. “In those 40 minutes, I drive my son to sitter and say good bye to him. Then, I drive to A&M and hunt for a parking spot so I can get to class on time. It’s very time consuming.” Leyendecker says A&M despera tely needs a day-care facility on its campus so students can spend less time commuting to and from baby sitters’ homes. Cara Clark, says she and her hus band have arranged their schedules around their son so they don’t have to take him to day care. Clark, who works part-time wli her husband attends gradu; school, says she seriously wouldo sider using a campus day-care cility if one was to open. “It would make things easier us,” she says. Valerie Jochen, a graduates; dent, says two A&M committees researching child care. “The Texas A&M/Bryan Station Child Care Providers 0 cil has representatives from both University and the community wot ing on the day-care issue," shesai “The other committee is a A&M students that are working dependently on the issue.” Jochen says although she think A&M will open a day-carel cility in the next year, the idea is ing considered. >oviei dots pe IT 1 II sponsored by MOSCOW group ^tu re voted 1 yle market ail S.
