Produced by Bad Company Rodeo, the event is the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association college rodeo for its southern re gion. Soviet dance troupe to perform Students from Louisiana and south central Texas will compete for hundreds of dollars in prize money and for points to qualify for the national collegiate rodeo finals. A disc jockey will play old-time rock and roll during the rodeo, A&M Rodeo Club President Marty Lindner said. “We re hop ing this will be the biggest rodeo ever here at Texas A&M," he said. Tickets are available at ticket booths staffed by members of the' A&M Rodeo Club in the Kleberg Animal and Food Science Center and in the Blocker Building. Tickets also will be sold at Court’s Western Wear in Bryan and in Post Oak Mall, at Brazos Valley Feed, and at the Dixie Chicken (tomorrow night only). Ticket prices are $5 tor the general public and $3 for stu dents for each of the three shows beginning at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and at 2 p m. Sunday. The Rustavi Company, a dance troupe from the Soviet Union, will perform at 8 ptm. Monday in Rudder Auditorium as part of its first North American tour. The show is sponsored by the Jordan Institute for International Awareness and OPAS. The 60-member Rustavi Com pany is from the Soviet Georgian capital of Tbilisi. The company’s age-old songs and dances draw on traditions from their native homeland that date back more than 1000 years. Georgian dancing features the only men in the world to dance on their toes without the aid of blocked shoes and women who never dance en pointe, unlike classical ballet dancers. The men and women dancers never touch. The songs and dances are ac companied by the company’s mu sicians who play Georgian instru ments. Christian singer to give benefit show Players to show how ‘Angels Fall’ The Aggie Players will present Lanford Wilson’s “Angels Fall," tonight at 8 p.m. in the recently revived Fallout Theater in Room 144 of the Blocker Building. The play involves six people trapped in a remote mission church in New Mexico who are waiting through a nuclear fallout caused by the release of pow dered uranium into the air of a small town. As these diverse strangers get to know each other, they discuss their frustrations with life and how it has not lived up to their ex pectations. “Angels Fall" is a play about finding out who you are and what you are called to do. The play is directed by senior honors student Jennifer Tyler in her debut as full director at Texas A&M. She assisted in the direc tion of "Another Antigone last season. “Angels Fall will be presented every night except Sunday and Monday through March 31. Tickets are $4 for the general public and $2 for students and se nior citizens. They will go on sale at 7 p.m. before each perfor mance at Rudder Box Office. The first play, “La Quinta Temporada, is a comedy written by Luis Valdez, direfctor of the movie “La Bamba. The 20-min ute play centers on a migrant farmworker who is exploited by landowners. After an intermission, ‘Burn ing Patience” will begin. The jilay is a drama about Nobel Prize-win ning Chilean poet Pablo Neruda and his struggles against oppres sion. The plays will be performed in English by members of the stu dent group El Teatro Del Pueblo. Tickets are available for $2 at Rudder Box Office.
