The 7:30 p.m.contest will be the first of the year for each squad, and will feature the second place teams from last year in botn the Southwest and Southeastern Conferences. The Lady Aggies are coming off of an 18-15 season in 1988. They posted a 6-4 record in conference play to tie Houston for a share of second place in the SWC. Coacn A1 Givens will send an ex perienced squad onto thq court. Of the 13 players on the roster, seven are returning letterwinners, and four were starters last year. This year’s squad will be led by se nior co-captains Yvonne Van Brandt, of San Antonio, and Kelli Kellen, of Conroe. A pair of juniors will also be counted upon to contribute lead ership. Krista Hierholzer, of Boca Raton, Florida, and Amy Cumings, of Midland each bring valuable ex perience. Bu HOUSTON (AP) — Former Uni versity of Oklahoma cornerback Jerry Parks, who shot and wounded former teammate Zarak Peters in a dorm incident last January, has been denied admission to the University of Houston, the school confirmed Tuesday. “I’m very disappointed, I was looking forward to going to school there and maybe later walking on (the football team),” Parks told KRIV-TV. Parks, who played at Sugar Land Willowridge with Peters, was ar rested Jan. 13 in Norman, Okla., and charged with shooting with in tent to injure following an argument in the Sooner athletic dorm. Peters was shot once in the left side of his chest with a .22 caliber E istol and was hospitalized with a ullet lodged in the rib cage. P oft I ’ sai sin th i |e tc met with him but beyond than I!
