Preacher, 40 homeless picket

less men, led by Fort Worth pre
acher W.N. Otwell, picketed the Ca-

thwart churches and other groups
trying to help the needy.
Otwell and another preacher, Au

lawmakers have ignored the needs
of the homeless during this legis
lative session.
“We came down to let the state of
Texas know that we’re standing for
the homeless,” Otwell, who has been
at odds with the state over licensing
of a home for children, said. He now
is fighting the city of Fort Worth
over a permit required for dinners

being served. Otwell has refused to
work out a compromise, they said.
