The fee paid by the sorority was not adequate to cover the number of participants who attended the event, she said. “It was just a misunderstanding between us and the park officials,” Jordan said. Police officials made individuals evacuate the site of the event and pay $2 for each car as it left, she said. An officer with the Bryan Police Department said the department was called by representatives of TABC to investigate the conflict. More than 750 individuals at tended the event, which exceeded the number of individuals allowed to attend the event under the fee paid by the sorority, he said. Because of the number of cars blocking the entrance to the event’s location, emergency vehicles would not have been able to reach the site of the event if an accident had oc curred, he said. “There were so many vehicles that it was unsafe,” the officer, who de clined to identify himself, said. Police officials refused to com ment further on the situation until today. Jordan said the event started at 10:30 a.m. and police and TABC of ficials arrived at about 1:30 p.m., about 45 minutes bef ore Playday was to end. Police did not make any arrests.
