Emiliano’s Supremists advocate segregation By Desiree Kennon Although the United States is a country with the financial and human resources to put companies into orbit and the ability to destroy the human race, the social issue of racism prevents a unified coexistence. This issue has overshadowed America for more than a century and has yet to be resolved. How can a country with such technological capabilities still be separated by racism? White Arian Resistance (WAR), formed 10 years ago, is concerned with the survival of the white race in all countries. It is based in Fallbrook, California, under the leadership of Tom Metzger. Metzger, 50, moved to California in 1968, after serving three years in the U.S. Army. A former leader for the Ku Klux Klan, Metzger, in 1980, founded the White American Political Association. Feeling the name was too closely tied with politics, he decided to change it. In 1984, he chose White American Resistance, but he felt it would limit his association to the United States. Wanting it on a more international level, he decided on White Arian Resistance. For several years, Metzger has been suggesting meetings with minority separatist leaders to reach an agreement to prevent a social upheaval. He believes such an upheaval is inevitable if the races are not separated. The white race is on the bottom end of the totem pole, Metzger says. “No longer will the government be there to help with our future, ” he says. “White leadership is turning on their own people and giving it (government) to others merely to pacify them for awhile. ” WAR is not an economic determinist. In fact, money is second to their interests, Metzger says. “Today our country is run by economic determinism period, ” he says. “Our struggle lies within our own race. We have corrupt white people who have been in economic determinism activity for several hundred years. It’s killing us all. ’’ WAR believes America is in the midst of a white civil war. “Blacks, Indians, Hispanics and Asians are side issues that are being aggravated by the lack of leadership within the white race,” Metzger says. Each race should have its own leadership, he says, because it is the only way to divert America from a collision course with actual civil war. Although people might find this paranoid, radical thinking, Metzger says that, when compared to the explosive minority birthrates and the declining Caucasian birthrates, the rationale behind his arguments may be seen. This does not mean his view is necessarily correct. However, he is acquiring a growing number of followers because of these reasons. WAR does not choose its members, Metzger says, its members choose WAR. People recruited range from Continued on page 7 In Bryan at502 W. 25th street. Those 18 and older admitted.
