This listing of restaurants in the area is categorized by the type of food served. Average cost for a meal and beverage is given at the end of each listing. AMERICAN Bennigan’s 1505 A Texas Ave. South, College Sta tion, 696-9066 Bennigan’s has a very diversified menu of 100 items, including 25 appetiz ers. Brunch is served until 3 p.m. Satur day and Sunday.m. Average cost: $7.00 Bombay Bicycle Club 607 Texas Ave., College Station, 696- 1427 The Bombay Bicycle Club features a 65 item hot-and-cold menu. The Fiesta Bar has build your own taco salad and nachos, soups and pasta, as well as a wide variety of salad fixings and fruit. They have daily lunch and dinner spe- cials, and the lounge has nightly specials from 9 p.m. until close. Happf Hour is from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m Bombay Bicycle CLub has a big screen T.V. , three T.V. monitors and a scoreboard that runs current events and sports 24 hours a day. Bombay will show all televised Aggie games. Average cost: $6.00 Country Kitchen Highway 60 West, College Station 846- 1010 The Country Kitchen specializes in catfish. They also serve steaks, seafood, chicken fried steak, enchiladas, sand wiches and barbecue, and feature home made pies and bread. They serve beer. Average cost: $5.00 Cow Hop Junction 1521 Texas Ave. South, Culpepper Plaza, College Station 696-5522 Steaks, burgers, chicken fried steak, sandwiches and salads are features, and they have a full service bar. Average cost: $3.75 for lunch, $7.00 for dinner Crepe Myrtle Cafe Best Western, 901 University Drive East, College Station 260-9150 The Crepe Myrtle Cafe specializes in country style foods and they also serve soups, salads and sandwiches. They serve breakfast and lunch. Average cost: $3.50 Frank’s Bar and Grill 505 University Drive East, College Sta tion 846-5388 A wide variety of entrees are served. Franks’s features unique appetizers and make their own potato chips. They have a full service bar, and happy hour includes margarita and beer specials from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Average cost: $6.00 Garfield’s Restaurant and Pub Holiday Inn, 1503 Texas Ave. South, College Station 693-1736 An assortment of entrees includes steaks, chicken and mexican food. They also have nightly drink specials from their full service bar. Average cost: $3.50 for lunch and $7.00 for dinner Gizmo’s Cafe and Bar 109 Boyett, College Station 846-7275 Gizmo’s serves unique sandwiches and salads as well as several dinner entrees. They have daily lunch specials and daily drink specials from their full service bar. Happy hour is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. da ily and all day Saturday. Average cqst: $3.50 for lunch and $5.00 for dinner. Grapevine, The 201 Live Oak, College Station 696- 3411 Soups made from scratch, sandwiches, salads, chicken and fish. They serve lunch and dinner. Happy hour is from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. Average cost: $5.00 for lunch and $12.00 for dinner. Plaza Cafe Hilton Hotel, 801 University Drive East, College Station 693-7500 The Plaza Cafe serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. They feature sandwiches, salads, appetizers and plate lunches, as well as a lunch buffet Monday through Friday. Average cost: $5.50 for lunch and $7.50 for dinner. Texan Restaurant 3204 South College, Bryan 822-3588 The Texan serves dinner only, from 5 p.m. until midnight. Several appetizers, including escargot and seviche, are featured, as well as sal ads, ribeyes, flaming shish kebab, live lobster, quail, Caribbean conch and 38 other entrees. The Texas also serves 30 Fine vintage wines. Reservations are recommended. Average cost: $22.00 SEAFOOD Brazos Landing Oyster Bar and Restau rant 103 Boyett, College Station 846-3497 Cajun style seafood and steaks, salads and sandwiches are specialties.They feature daily specials. They have live entertainment several days a week. Average cost: $4.00 for lunch and $6.00 for dinner. Captain’s Half Shell Oyster Bar 206 East Villa Maria, Bryan 775-9079 Captain’s serves an assortment of sea food entrees. The seafood poorboy is a specialty, and they serve beer and wine. Happy hour is from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday through Thursday. Average cost: $5 Long John Silver’s 3224 Texas Ave., Bryan 779-3995 1808 Texas Ave. South, College Sta tion 696-8555 Pelican’s Wharf 2500 Texas Ave. South, College Sta tion 693-5113 Oysters on the half shell, boiled shrimp and fresh seafood are specialties, but they also serve steaks and chicken en trees. Happy hour is from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Pelican’s Wharf serves dinner only. Fri. 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Catfish, barbecue and chicken fried steak are menu features, and Gideon’s has daily lunch specials. Average cost: $5.00 K Bob’s Steak House 809A University Drive East, College Station 846-7467 Steaks, fajitas, chicken and grilled red snapper are specialties. K Bob’s has a full service bar and a happy hour from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. Average cost: Lunch $6.25, dinner $8.25. Ken Martin’s Steak House 3231 East 29th, Bryan 776-7500 Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served. Ken Martin’s Steak House won the 1988 Best Meal Under $10.00 Award. They specialize in steaks, but also serve chicken, seafood and burgers. Longhorn Tavern Steak House 1900 Highway 21 East, Bryan 778- 3900 Specialties are chicken fried steak, fish, frog legs and New York strip. They have a daily lunch special and also serve beer. Randy Sims Bar B Cue House 3824 Texas Ave., Bryan 846-8016 Lunch and dinner are served, and they also serve draft beer. Average cost: $5.00 Red Bandanna, The 3500 Highway 21 East, Bryan 778- 0077 The Red Bandanna serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.Barbecue and country cooking are their specialties. Beer and wine is served. Average cost: $6.50 Tom’s Bar B Que and Steak House 3610 College Ave. South, Bryan 846- 4275 Barbecue, steaks, chicken fried steak and a full salad bar are menu features. Texas Ave., Bryan 779-2822 Steaks, a full salad bar, daily lunch spe cials and a daily buffet are features of the Western Sizzlin’. They also have a Sun dae Bar, with ice cream and toppings. Average cost: $4.50 ITALIAN/PIZZA Cenare 404 University Drive East, College Sta tion 696-7311 Fettucini, manicotti, canneloni, chicken cacciatora, veal parmigiana and marsala, and shrimp scampi are a few of their specialties. Cenare has a selection of imported and domestic wines, as well as a full service bar. Average cost: $6.00 for lunch and $12.00 for dinner.
