No. 1 Dean Johnson won his match against Mauricio Silva 5-7, 6- 1,6-4. “Deano really gutted up and came up with the big win, and that’s the second time he has beaten Silva,” As sistant Coach Tim Drain said. “He played an incredible match today.” Shaun O’Donovan, A&M’s No. 2 player, lost to Mats Malmsberg 6-2, 5-7, 6-1. Kennedy defeated Eno Polo 6-4, 3-6, 6-1. “Steve is playing great tennis right now, and he usually turns in a.win,” Drain said. Whitteker played his usual consis tent match, crushing Chris Greer 6- 3, 6-4. “Whitteker played the kind of match coaches don’t have to worry about,” Drain said. “We just let him take carte of business and watched the other matches.” A&M’s Michael Chambers lost to Greg Tournant 6-3, 6-4 and Scott Campell was defeated by Chad Marsh 6-1,6-3. A&M split the singles 3-3 and fin ished out the dual match by winning two of three doubles matches. In the past few dual matches A&M has relied on its doubles teams to pull out a victory. A&M No. 1 doubles team Ken nedy and O’Donovan dominated Trinity’s Silva and Sundh 6-4, 6-3. No. 2 Whitteker and Johnson de feated Malmsberg and Marsh 6-2, 6- 2. Trinity’s Tournant and Manuel and Rodriquez defeated Campell Chambers 6-4, 2-6, 6-4. “Quite frankly, I’m surprised at our win, but that shows you what I know," Head Coach David Kent said. “It has been a long time since we have beat a team in the top 20.” “This is the very best tennis we’ve played in years.” A&M’s record stands at 6-2. 46 Mom says the house just isn’t the same without me, even thought a lot cleaner.??
