Sunset Today: 5:58 p.m.
Sunrise Saturday: 7:17 a.m.
Map Discussion:
The Pacific weather system will weaken with time diminishing prospects of
significant precipitation over inland areas. An arctic high over the Yukon will move
southeastward to the United States/Canadian border. Elsewhere, high pressure
dominates and a general warming trend will be evident under zonal flow aloft and
southerly low level flow, particularly east of the Rocky Mountains.
Forecast:
Today. Partly cloudy and warm. High near 73 degrees. South winds at 10-17 mph.
Tonight. Fair and mild. Low Saturday morning in the 50s. Winds will be light, less
than seven mph, through the night.
Saturday. Partly cloudy and warm with the maximum temperature reaching 75
degrees. Winds will be southeasterly at 12 mph gusting to 18 mph.
Weather Fact Frontogenesis - (see map). The initial formation of a front or frontal
zone, in general, an increase in the horizontal gradient of air mass properties
(moisture, pressure, wind and temperature, which are the primary atmospheric
variables).

Pernell Dale Bratcher, 22, was ar
rested Wednesday after about 45
hours of freedom when Bexar
County sheriffs deputies tracked
him down and found him hiding un
der a bed in a mobile home.
Bratcher was on trial for the slay
ing of his girlfriend, Debora Sue
Cotton, 19, whose decomposed body
was found in a Christmas tree box
last May 7.
“I’m innocent,” Bratcher told re
porters Wednesday as he was es
corted to the county jail.
Bratcher said he fled because he
feared the racial makeup of the 12-
member jury, which had only one
Hispanic and one black.
“I wasn’t going to let 12 people
decide my life,” he said. “There were
too many white people.”
Shortly after Bratcher fled Mon
day, the jury convicted him and later
sentenced him to life in prison.
