Tickets are $4 for students and senior citizens and $6 for adults. If you’re a fan of The Judy’s, watch for more information about the group’s appearance at De Ware Pieldhouse the evening of Nov. 21. The Judy's, best known for “Guyana Punch, ” haven’t performed in the Bryan/College Station area for quite a while, so it’s a prime opportunity to see this offbeat band. The Aggie Players sing “Comedy Tonight, ” the opening number in “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. ” 'A Funny Thing' ends run with shows this weekend Want some comedy to night? Go see the Aggie Play ers’ production of “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Fo rum. ” “Forum” is a wild musi cal comedy written by Burt Shevelove and Larry Gelbart with music by Stephen Sondheim that takes place in the steets of Ancient Rome. Hero, son of Roman senator Senex, is stuck on Philia, a girl who he has seen at the local house of ill repute. One of Senex’s slaves, Pseudolus, offers to get the girl for Hero in exchange for his freedom. Pseudolus is taking ad vantage of Senex’s ab sence to escape his bond age. When Pseudolus tries to buy Philia for Hero, they find that she has al ready been sold to Cap tain Miles Gloriosus, a brave soldier due back in Rome any day now. Pseudolus cons Lycus, owner of the brothel, into letting him take Philia until the Captain gets back. Before long, Philia and Hero fall madly in love. Senex unexpectedly re turns home and finds Phi lia in his house. Philia be lieves Senex is her rightful owner, the Captain, and makes advances towards him. Senex gladly accepts those advances. Senex and Hero try to win the love of Philia while the Captain arrives in town and starts looking for his wife-to-be. Then, a lot of funny things begin to happen. “Forum” is directed by Roger Schultz, director of theater at Texas A&M and stars Donnie Wilson, Troy Herbort, Mark Wilhite and Pamela Saxon. Performances of the play, which opened Wednesday, will be held tonight and Saturday at 8 in Rudder Theater. Call 845-1234 for more.details, by Karl Pallmeyer UT drama department offers Williams' 'Glass Menagerie' Battalion Classified 845-2611 If you made it through high school, you’ve prob ably read Tennessee Wil liams’ “The Glass Mena gerie.” Now you can see what all the hubbub was about when the University of Texas drama depart ment performs the classic play and all-time favorite of high school English tea chers. “The Glass Menagerie” runs Nov. 18 through 23 at the Winship Drama Building at 23rd and San Jacinto in Austin. The shy and withdrawn Laura, her domineering mother, Amanda, her sympathetic brother, Tom, and her “gentleman caller,” Jim, are played by UT undergraduates. The production is a project of master’s degree candi dates. The troupe will take ad vantage of the dream quality in Williams’ writing by using sparse sets and simple costumes.
